Kajsa Hollsten is a designer based in Malmö, Sweden.
(b.1992) BA Product Design, Material and Design for sustainable development. Malmö University, Sweden.
Her work explores how material presence and spatial presence influence the way we experience and relate to space. Working across furniture, bespoke objects and spatial design, the practice develops both commissioned and self-initiated projects with a focus on clarity, atmosphere and long-term presence.
The studio works across furniture, interiors and spatial concepts for private clients, brands, architects and cultural institutions. Projects range from individual objects to larger spatial interventions, developed through material exploration, prototyping and close attention to context and construction. The practice considers how objects contribute to spatial experience—how they shape movement, atmosphere and interaction within a space.
Each project is grounded in material sensitivity and a process-led way of working, where making is an essential part of development. Collaboration with local production and skilled craftspeople is central, allowing material decisions and detailing to evolve through direct engagement with process and scale.
The work aims to create objects and environments that carry a sense of permanence, both functionally and spatially, while remaining closely tied to their context.
